For what it's worth I'm all for inclusive rules re categories. Hey if you got beaten by someone with a mod'ed rifle that didn't really fit into the category who cares anyway, you still got to shoot your HT, the other guys score didn't effect yours, and those little medals they hand out arn't really worth much, and i'd guess you've got a drawer full of them anyway, just my 2 cents...

Mate, I didn't write the rules..(not those ones anyway) but there is cause for complaint against what you are planning. Everything would be fine a club level, but once you get into higher competition it all changes. How often do you here someone use the argument "we allow it at our club...". To that end it would be best if the rules were enforced to the letter from the ground up.
If you want to allow anyone to shoot, you need rules that accurately demonstrate the intent. Yours do not, I'm afraid. Go visit the AIHPA website and copy their rifle classes. You know them , Ned...and the reasons for their existence They are the only truly inclusive shooting group in the country.

I'm not against what you are thinking, but it is against your own rules... or are they just guidelines, Cap'n Sparrow.

And young Tbone...I just object when they are blatently broken to allow a mate of the scruitineer into a class he shouldn't have been in... ok for a club shoot, but not nationals. Yeah, I got plenty of trinkets, but they were worth nothing to me after that! Went to a truly inclusive group and didn't go back.
I do it for the enjoyment... I will be shooting one of my Ht's in a fortnight in an "any rifle" match at 700yds. Maximum grin factor!- thats what I look for!

Scope is a Leupold 3-9 Vari-XII with GSA G-Bralta (a play on the saying 'as solid as the rock of Gibralter') QD dovetail mounts made by Gold Spot Accesories in Adelade.

    I understand Son,
I am going to concede your No6 should not be in standard class but could shoot in a modified class event.
what do you do now with all the different issue sniper rifles of today?
Granted a couple are not allowed due to regulations but if some one had the money to buy one, should he be allowed to use it?
what I am trying to get across here is that there is no hard and fast rule to what is general issue or not.
If anything was signed for from the armoury and used that is enough evidence to say it was an issue item.
Experimental is different to trials, by fact of scale of issue.
general/scale of issue to special forces is different than to a reserve unit, and a lithuian local bridge defence section, if you get my drift.

AIHPA rules are mind f**K to admin to, try having 5-6 different trophy classes and costing involved. We have to concede that if we keep going that way we will be competing against only the same model rifle as each other, at least we try and make it so we can have a competition.
Anyway national service rifle events with the NRAA are a long way if not ever way off so we don't have to worry about it.
    cheers
    Ned

Anyway if someone wanted to use something in a class that is not easily recognizable then it is up to the individual to provide the evidence to satisfy the executive committee running the show to allow the entry, then everyone else has to go by what they say, can't have the rank the file running the shoot can we now!! if they think they are correct, step up and have a go at running the thing themselves!!
