Donna Heck....accident report & I need advice
As of Friday........ OSU Hospital......Skin graft Drs. feel they have successfully completed their end of Donnas treatment, as have the bone Drs. since the two pins in her foot have also been removed. The Phy. Therapy Drs. boss was there Friday & concluded that Donna is not ready to start PT........ ???? Not sure just what more has to be accomplished to that end. Donna keeps telling me to wait on her to do the farm chores so she can help!!!!!
I dont think it has fully dawned on her just how restricted she is going to be even after she gets home.....try doing your bathroom chores with one foot, just an example of how difficult it will be for her.
She insists they take her from the bed to a potty chair instead of the bed pan routine. This pleases every one involved that she can do that much......but it takes more than several minutes just to sit up in the bed, turn 90degrees and have two nurses slide her over & off the side of the bed.........she swings herself back into bed with an overhead trapeze device........much to their continued amazement.
Probably leaving something out............
Now the help I need......... We have two old Uniden portable land line phones. Each has a speaker phone base....good thing too.......as the buttons on the hand sets will not work any more. Must use the speaker phone part to make or receive calls. I took the hand sets apart & cleaned the rubberized plate inside with all the little carbon contacts with alchohol. Seems to be the only thing that made sense.....worked for a short time........
I need to replace these 20 year old phones...... but with what???? I really dislike that I cant find a US mfgred phone, at least to this point. I want to stay with the speaker base, with answer machine & portable hand set w/volume enhancer. The speaker part of the farm phone was what I had to use to call EMT folks.
Any suggestions with this???

Although you may be able to find a phone assembled in the USA
, most if not all, components are made overseas. My suggestion would be shop for features first, then price. Most major names are built the same but with a different badge. Like the car industry. Unfortunately this is one of the causes of our economy struggling. Manufacturing being done outside this country. Any big box retailer should have a phone that meets your needs. Good luck.

Don´t know if you will find a US made phone, it is like the Made in Germany
Mercedes which has more parts from made in China in it than my Made in China razor from Phillips. I´m using a Panasonic phone witch has one main station with answering machine and two external stations. The phones are working at a maximum distance of 300yards from the station. I think that this is also a fact for you to have a phone with a good transmission power.
All the best to you and your wife!
With deep respects
