Yes, it has been sporterized. Butt stock has had pad added and fore end has been cut down.
Since it is a rifle with an intact mum, it might be worth looking for parts to restore it. These are nice shooting pieces.

In picture # 1, his stock has a "blond" area oval on the butt end of the stock.
My model 99 has the same thing. Anyone know what that is for, or how it got that way.

That is called a Dutch repair or inlay I believe and it is where the sling swivel was.

Thanks for the info. That was what I was afraid of. I may look into resroring it. Have to have something to compete with my son's 43 Nagant LOL!!

In the last pic it looks like the barrel has been shortened a little. If so restoring it won't be worth the effort. It still won't have any collector value. You could keep it as is for a shooter or sell it off and find one that bubba has'nt had hold of. I happened across a VG condition all correct, all matching but mumless T99 in the Carolina Trader a couple weeks ago for $225.

Yes, alas!
Barrel shortened + stock cut down at front + probably a bit carved off at the back to make a flat for the pad = just not worth it. Keep if good shooter, otherwise pass on.
