Anzac15, I missed a good one a few years ago. Another man I know bought a new place. The garage had a loft/storage area with a bunch of junk in it. He found a fully loaded 1873 Winchester rifle there under the junk. He took it right down to a gun shop and sold it for $500. I was bummed.
I found this carbine stock on GB. It was broken and I got it cheap. I do alot of stock repairs for people so that was an easy fix. The stock was missing one of the sling estrusions but I got out some sheet metal and made one useing the one I had as a template.
The barrel has enough length left to install a correct front sight and crown for the Mod. 38 carbine. I'm going to leave the rear sight the way it is. I have barrel bands, cleaning rod, and sling on the way. Then I'm looking forward to getting it together head spaced and out to the range. Should be fun to shoot.
Happy new Year.....Frank![]()
