The rifle was called "M"[ followed ] by years so much they just started calling it U. S. Rifle Cal. .30 M1and this was after two more large names. The original name was M1936 as was the M1903 Springfield and the M1919 Browning and the model 1918 Browning or BAR and so on. All of them have nick names but there military designation started as a Model and year. Rick B

Yes but the forums are and they have rules. They are not up for constant berating of members as you have tried on my G&G forum also and emailed me to try and get another member in trouble after you were banned from the CMP& Surplus rifles.. Now please get back to discussion without issues. Rick B
