How to pronounce "Garand"?

The rifle was called "M"[ followed ] by years so much they just started calling it U. S. Rifle Cal. .30 M1 and this was after two more large names. The original name was M1936 as was the M1903 Springfield and the M1919 Browning and the model 1918 Browning or BAR and so on. All of them have nick names but there military designation started as a Model and year. Rick B
