It brings a smile to your face
Had the dubious pleasure of having three wallopers front up to do a Firearms inspection yesterday. Almost brings to mind the old "How many ......to jokes.
All this aside, they are wading thru my collection, totally confused but trying hard, one big walloper is holding a 303 Martini carbine and telling his female offsider how this rifle was used in the Zulu wars, I just turned away and shuffled some papers.
Maybe he was close, could have been a prop for ZULU, or maybe not. At least he did'nt think my AC1 was a shotgun.

Bugger mate, don't you understand english?
Walloper is a copper, fuzz, dick or whatever you call your police, and Front up is to arrive, or turn up unanounced.

Maybe you should take another look and realize that this is a CANADIAN BASED website and that we speak "PROPER" English up here sport !
"Donkey Walloper" is ALSO a common reference word for the dimwits on the horses with thered coats and pointed hats covering their pointed heads up here too.In BC they are MOST noteworthy for accidentaly shooting folks in struggles that don't leave powder tatooing, kicking guys face down on the ground with their hands behind their heads in the face gratuitously and did I mention tasing a poor bugger FIVE times and then LYING (under oath of course) about it,They also FORGOT to mention the 200 plus pound cop KNEELING on the guy's THROAT and it was ONLY a guy with a camera phone who caught it all on film who nailed them dead to rights.Of course they are ALSO noted for "investigating" themselves and finding(ALWAYS) that they did NO WRONG !! We had hoped that we were going to see the BACK of them this past year but OH NO; the gummint renewed their contract for another 20 years....IDIOTS that they are !
We ALSO spell harbour, honour and various other words just like the folks who invented the language do too you see.
Happy New Year 2012 too !!

Boot, lid and bonnet, go on holiday with a caravan, toss me the spanner, petrol, how am I doing. You are right, there is a larger proper English speaking world out there.
A friend relates a story about being examined by the BATF for his C&R. A nice, pleasent female stopped by and he had the ordnance in question out for verification. She asked where all the machine guns were. Now his C&R 'collection' was pretty well represented by 100 year old smelly, greasy, rusted and well dented subjects, none of which are Class III. He politely said 'What you see is what I got.' She smiled and they had a cup of coffee, chatted, and off she went to the next assignment.

Just as an off side, have you noticed that to submit fast reply, takes 3 times as long as if you just post a reply.

Hey, Kev.. didn't they pre arrange? Or is your licence a level which allows them to "request" instant access? Will have to ask about mine when they come to see me here. It could get untidy now I think about it...

Yeah, I'm an instant access bloke, level 3 /9 security, back to base waived because it takes them 20+ mins. to respond.
Don't you just love 'em?
