1913 bayonet scabbard. Info please?

Who knows how they came together. Perhaps it happened in the field if the original got damaged or lost. Or maybe it was bought in surplus by the British from the US for use with some other equipment belt. Or maybe a previous collector/owner bought it by itself and paired it with the scabbard later. These are just guesses, and may be improbable, I don't know. Anyway it sure looks beautiful on the end of my P-14.
