Loading smokeless in the 577/450 is an advanced skill and can be an exercise in frustration. This is a black powder cartridge and to start off blackpowder is the best way to go.

Lee has made a number of custom Martini moulds. If you are willing to pay premium price for a $20 mould go for it.

Both RCBS and CBE make proper Martini .468 diameter. CBE even has one for .470 diameters. The CBE mould with postage from Australiaicon will cost the same as the RCBS with out postage. The RCBS mould is available from Buffalo Arms Buffalo Arms Company|Over 8,000 Black Powder Cartridge Rifle|Cowboy Guns|Reloading supplies|Related Items!
, Contact CBE at CAST BULLET ENGINEERING - Home
    as mentioned above.

My knowledge of black power is zero. Can you load ultra light with it or say Pyrodex ?
    Many thanks
