Thanks all,
I have been talking with Brian and if all goes well I will place an order with him today for most the parts I need to bring this enfield back to its original glory.

Just a small bit of info on that stock replacement... "I can't rember where I read it from" but there is some very valuable information on how to get accuracey from the full wood stock on the enfield, with some type of wedging system. I think it was designed to put something like 10 lbs upward pressure on the barrel when its attatched to the stock. I wish I could rember where I read it. You can just put the stock set on there, but it can shoot better if installed as per those instructions.
Maybe someone here knows which article or web site that was on... good luck with your project.

Will the factory set up with the spring in the collar and the one in the front nose not suffice? I had assumed that it was set up that way for a reason. I'm sorry. I'm talking about a NO1 MK3

While all you good Enfield folks are in the helping mood I need some also.
I rescued a "sporterized" (pardon the profanity) 1941Lithgow No 1 MkIII today. The weapon is lightly import marked JCC Ny,Ny below the charging bridge but the numbers match on what is left bolt/action. I hope I am not in over my head. The forestock is bobbed off at about the barrel band and the upper handguard is gone otherwise complete and worthy of . I emailed Brian (BDL
) to see if he could help with the coachwood furniture. Springfield Sporters, Numrich & Liberty Tree seem to have the small parts so perhaps I will be successful. The inner band and associated hardware is missing but avaliable but how do you install the inner band past the front sight? Is it pinned and brazed or just pinned on?
Thanks

You need to remove the front sight, the band is a slip fit.
