I can quote a number of German language authors on the subject who also provide photographic evidence of Berlin police in formation, shooting the (short) P 08 with the stock attached.

Have you found the evidence yet? I have approximately 20 Luger reference books starting with Fred Datig in 1955, and going to Görtz and Sturgess in 2010. If you can point out a page reference I would be very appreciative.
