Post WW2 rebuild stamp
The post war SA SPG rebuild stamp is not very common, often stamped to the left side
of any existing cartouche. There are a few M1 carbines with this rebuild stamp too.

According to Billy Pyle, Gibbs was called out of retirement -- I wonder if he brought his old stamps with him or SA made new ones? I have one like yours with a very deep stamp, much deeper than the Gas Trap era cartouches.

I don't know, Rick, and I'm not at home to get it. I have a photo someplace, but it might take a while to find it.

SA GAW rebuild stamp from WW2
This Winchester stock has the SA GAW rebuild stamp from WW2, this is like the Winchester stock Rick B. was talking about in the above post.

Here is a rifle that I am watching on an auction right now. The picture is not very clear but it is an SA SPG cartouche.

another rebuild
Early SA SPG stock with a faint drawing number. Stock was converted to use the trapdoor buttplate and two equal size holes under the new buttplate. Note the serif P in box

The WB has both markings and bot h wheels on it. I just want to water mark it before I put it up and someone like Findley steals it. I have never seen on e this nice and if I write a book I want this one for it. Rick B
