Well, prices of M1
Garand are very expensive in Italy
if you want to buy a rifle in good conditions.
I don't know current prices in Germany
but I payed 1.400 euro for the '44 and a couple of hundred euro less for the '54 and the '64.
Is that too much ?

This is the official 2011 pricing list of Terni Armory Arsenal, which is a National Armory.

M1
Garand rifle are sold after you send them a request letter and you will probably get a rifle after 5 or 6 years from your request.
You cannot chose the rifle at all, so that if you get an old rusty model you have to keep that one.
T1 (the same I bought yesterday in a shop) and T2 models are sold at about 700 euro but without OpRod since are out of stock !
Crazy prices, so that in the local market the cost of a M1 Garand cannot be below 1.000 euro for sure.

Bizio, your op rod on this last rifle isn't a replacement part, it's an early op rod that was modified. Thus no revision number.
The D35382 SA op rods are neither early or modified. They are post war rebuild op rods, and were originally manufactured with the relief cut. They were not used on new production rifles.

That's exactly what I had read in my pdf document, they were given as spare parts only.
Same thing told me an Italian
friend after I had posted detailed photos of my Op Rod
www.armietiro.it Leggi argomento - M1 Garand
Thanks.

I went to the range today to test my new M1
Garand T1 .308Win
I am not used to shoot rifles without a scope but I had anyway good fun shooting quick sequences of 8 rounds each time.
This is the result at 100 meters (110 Yards) of two groups of 8 rounds with M1 over a rest.

I have used this realoding :
Vihtavuori N140 43.5 Grs, Sellier & Bellot FMJ 147 Grs, COL 70.5 mm (2.95"), Winchester case, CCI Large Rifle primer.

Yup, I have that info, if I'd cared to have looked closely. There I go...putting bad info into print! Lesson learned.

Most of the prices are inflated for speculation
Just consider that before the Euro, in early '90s , a M1
Garand was sold by Terni Armory Arsenal at 300.000 Lire, about 300 DM
