A great post, something there for everyone. One part brings me back, way back in time.
Back in the 4th grade, in Hawthorne, CA, every morning we would recite the Pledge of Allegiance then sing the Star Spangled Banner. But not the standard verse. We would sing the second verse, part of which you cite here.
It is so much prettier than the first verse, really grips you. You should look it up and check it out.Information
