As an aside, I remember as a kid in West LA in the early sixties a gun shop that had an anti-tank rifle on the floor in the corridor just inside the front door, had to step around it to the left or right to see the rest of the merchandise. Don't remember the price. However there were a few display cases full of Lugers, the standard ones about $75-100, the artillery models $125-150, and the carbines for maybe $500-750 or so, not sure, don't remember those as well, other than that they were there and there was more than one of them.
