    According to the date on the back of this Signal Corps photo, Walt received his medal on 11 December 1944. I met him at an event a couple of years back and had him sign it. He surprised me when he said that he had not seen that photo before. As stated here, a very gracious and accomodating gentleman. He has been riding with our living history group in the Huntington Beach. CA 4th of July parade for the past several years.
