I'm looking for a gunsmith that can do minor metal forming
I need a middle band formed to fit a rifle. It will require bending the oval band to the cross section shape of the stock and barrel, then cutting off the lower portion where the sling swivel and screw go. Then a sections of another band needs to be bent to form the lower shape of the stock, and the upper and lower sections brazed together. I have created the cross section of the rifle at the point where the band goes., and I have the two bands, swivel and screw. You can see what I was attempting in the attached pictures. I was successful on one side, but bent the metal too much on the other side, and it began to split.

I have made them, but they are a pain in the rear, as you know. I may be in Raleigh next week, and if so I will look you up. What rifle is it to fit? A Sporter?
