My Dad was was a bandsman with the Blackwatch during the early years of the Mau Mau uprising & saw active service in Kenya, anyone want to guess the type of rifle he was issued??

I'll bite, being the 50's, a No.4? Park Rangers still carry them and No.5's, some Sterlings in the police force, I worked there in the 70's/80's. Cheers, Don

Still no to all the above, you have to throw out what you think you know, it was a rifle, but was not a Lee.
To be honest i thought he must have been wrong when he told me, but have since found out he was proberbly correct.
I found out what he had a few years back when i handed him my No4 saying this is what you would have had in Kenya, his answer was..... No i had a ?? ???

Oh, my! This is MOST mystifying now!
I only ever knew one fellow who was in that: 16 years old, KPR and they handed him a Bren.
