My favorite out of my 10 Enfields is a BSA-Shirley 1944 #4Mk1T. When I bought it, it had never been fitted with a scope, and it had the H&H-installed pads on the left side of the receiver. I ordered a newly-made repro No.32 scope from Numrch at the NRA convention in Pittsburgh last year, and after all these years the rifle finally had a scope on it. I had previously found a repro. scope mount from Sportsman's Guide mailorder firm about 6 or 7 years ago. Everything fit perfectly-I wish the scope and mount were original, but I really can't justify the big $ outlay for the original scope/mount. I paid $150 for the rifle from a coworker who inherited it; the repro mount was $85; the repro No.32 scope was $500. I'm happy and the old girl can shoot better than I can hold...
