Why So Costly??
Can't understand why this stock is bringing so much.
The left rail has been notched out, For a Scope (?).
Maybe buyers can't see it's been cut.

Maybe someone likes the shine or the beat up butt plate. 
It's the beauty of an auction. Look at all the other items that have gone nuts. How come my stuff doesn't do that???

Charlie, I paid alot more for a type IV Win stock (in better condition) so I think this one is not too over inflated for the damage/cut - IF IT REALLY IS A TYPE IV. It also comes with a late handguard. With all the late 7 mill Winnies popping up lately (I counted at least 6 that CMP
auctioned off the last year or so) I assume that there is a push to "make them correct". They are pretty hard to find and someone may be getting desproate for a stock to complete a re-build.
While the channel length says that is it a type IV, look at photo #4. The underside about 4 inches forward of the mag cut. It looks like a classic potbelly. Now it may be the way the stock is laying on the sheet, but I WONDER if this is a type V potbelly that has been shaved down to make it look like a Type IV. Of course, my eyes are old and I am half blind and 3/4 crazy...

Just noted that the same individual also has a potbelly up for bids. He also refers to it as a "Type IV"
