strange thing
Today I put about 100 rounds through my M1
. I was braking it down, I forgot to close the bolt before removing the trigger housing assmebly. I went to close the bolt and somehow the bolt lugs popped out of the channels in the receiver and everything got bound up I was able to gently persuade the bolt lugs back in the channels. and the weapons function fine(well thats with live fire) has this ever happened to any one? should be worried? Thanks
John

I'm having trouble imagining the mechanics of that. Having the bolt locked to the rear shouldnt make field stripping it any different, the action is open, thats the onlt difference.

You better send that defective Garand
to me so I can dispose of it properly
Seriously, I've never seen that happen either... And I'm pretty sure I've removed the trigger like that too.

So the right side of the bolt came out of the Op rod and the left dropped out of track. No biggie but I would be looking at the Op rod tab and trying to figure out how the the Op rod was not in it's track.
