    MkI Backsight Identification

    I came across this MkI backsight on an auction site and was wondering who the manufacturer was. This marking is found in the same locations as all of the others - front, rear, and top.

    Looks like a gunsmith's mark. It appears that the sight slider face has been ground before the mark has been applied.

    Clever. Looks like GU, or UG forming the nosecap of a SMLE seen muzzle on.
