No.4 Mk2 history request
Im new to the Enfield No.4 Mk2 rifles and thought I'ld ask you all for a history lesson if I may. Im in the process of puchasing one of these rifles with the s/n of PF311xxx. I believe it is known as one of the "Irish Contract" rifles.
Is there any information you can offer me? The rifle has been a shooter and thus is not one of the "wrapped" rifles I see mentioned. My intention is to use it in CMP
Vintage Rifle matches. Any recomendations before I shoot it? I usually do a complete tear down, cleaning and inspecting of any mil-surp rifle I shoot but because of the 2 piece stock of the Enfield Im tempted to leave the metal work attached to the stock.
Thoughts?
