What's the deal on this eBay stock?
It's probably too late to bid on this stock, but I've been trying to figure out the story on it. Do you think it was made for Quality Hardware and then transferred to Saginaw? I see it has an Underwood rebuild mark on the left side. Not a bad looking stock.

It went up a hundred bucks in a snap, so it must be alright with a couple of people.

Yeah, saw that. The bidding on this stuff is pretty interesting to say the least. The 'second place guy' must have raised his max by $50 with less than an hour to go, then the eventual winner shot for the moon with 5 seconds left - someone that must know carbine stocks a lot better than I do. - Bob

Funny thing that cartouche. I've not seen one that close to the grip

Wish he had pictures of the sling well markings, inside barrel channel and the frt nose of the stock. Having the numbers stamped in slingwell may very well show use by SG.
Stamps look to be correct, but I'd need more time to magnify and compare.
Either way IMHO it's much more believable than this one on GB:

That one looks like a WWII replacement stock. A buddy of mine has one just like it except for the tag. - Bob

That is one stock I would be very careful about. There are several things that I would question on it.
