Unknown Carbine
Ran across a Un-Known Carbine, Serial # 01573.
Any thoughts?
It's the bottom one in this auction of 2.

Aftermarket maker?
But I think that might take it out of the C&R class.

Pretty sure it's a Howa with the bayo lug removed. I can see the raised area on the barrel, and the sights look like Howa. - Bob

Been busy today helping my partner move.
Hope to look over Jim M's Carbine sites and see if it's a Howa.
USGI Bob,
That was my first thought after seeing the barrel, rear sight and some staking on the frt sight. Want to look over the Howa's to see how they were serial numbered?

It is a Howa carbine. The rear sight is a flip sight that is also adjustable for windage. Only about a total of 4000 made it into the country but to get in they had to have that infamous assault bayonet lug removed. All USGI parts will interchange with the Howa parts. Excellent quality made carbines.

I'm running behind lately
Thank You Bruce,
I haven't had the time to try to search for more info on it. Sitting up or still is hard.
Trying to get over another back surgery, sorta a general maintenance operation.
Had to have some over due trimming done around and in between 3 disc.
So I've been having to light foot around the house and just stop by our jobs when I can.
Over the years I have broken my back twice, both times were compression fractures of vertebrae, thus injuring the disc in between having 2 removed and struts put in.
First time L3, L4, L5 all considered to be less than 50% of their original height.
Second time after a lift I was on was knocked over by a steelworkers Sky Trac, I dropped straight down from 26'.
Fractured 3 more vertebrae, 2 being L3 and L4 again.
So far in my lifetime that totals 13 Orthopedic sugeries.
I pray no more and wouldn't wish this on anyone.
I need to talk with Harlan and see if we shouldn't go ahead and Pre-order our own Hover rounds. We'd both need them customized with rifle racks and all terrain tires. Oh almost forgot the Handi-cap license plates
Our little buddy Harlan has had a tough run as of lately.
Again Appreciate The Help Buddy,
Charlie Holland

I believe it is a Howa as well. The stock is a pot-belly with what looks like a CC stamp.

Ria lot 699
I have a question on ( RIA lot 699 ) 2 Carbines.
How did it sell when the auction doesn't start until June 29th.
I was watching this lot just for the fun of it, and to learn how things work.
