    Newbe from Floridas West Coast

    Greetings to Millsurps.com

Will be 54 this year and have been shooting a lot of APPLESEEDS this year with No#2 daughter (15 years old). She has shown a interest in shooting for 4 years now and has progressed from her H&R 686 22/22m to S&W I frame 32 to 1917 Savage 380 and is now shooting her Ruger 10/22 at the "seeds". So, I've been more than happy to put the golf clubs up and re set-up the loading bench.
My shooting background is pretty informal the only competitive shooting was the local Bullseye league over at the old Tampa Police Department Range before the school system decided to use the property for a High School....What a Waste. Other than that quite bit of hunting and a lot of riddled soda cans. I tried Action shooting a couple of times couldn't get worked up doing it. It was sort of like football in high school, hated playing it, liked to watch it. Played Baseball and Wrestling were my sports in school which possibly explains my like for Bullseye Shooting.
The woman who was the biggest mistake of my life caused the loss of many of my guns (here after known as QBU, queen bitc# of the universe). I had some pretty interesting stuff, but I really miss my Grand Dads Winchester 37, but on the bright side she didn't find his pocket watch.
Now re-married for 16 years, great gal, but gets way to many ideas from HGTV, I will be buried next to her. 5 kids ages 15 to 28, had some rough patches with some of the kids but their all doing pretty OK now. Thank God.
I have a fairly broad electronic engineering background and a serious interest in quite a few subjects from politics to NASA to firearms to history and others.
The job by the way is with a huge public school system keeping the computer networks running. I'm a military brat and I thought Uncle Sam could spend some money, but they are rank amateur's compared with the cash the Public Schools can pi$$ away. The job, as interesting as it is, is really just a way to a paycheck. A way to live comfortably not a way of life.

    Thanks for Reading

Just a quick hello from a new member. Fascinating site here.

I am not a collector but I am interested in Mausers and Lee Enfields.

I have a sporter M96 that I really like and if I ever found a nice MK5 it would probably follow me home.

Looking forward to reading and learning!

    Cool Mikebrrc

Hi all, I am a new member. New to collecting mil surplus firearms but not new to guns. Looking forward to learning from others with same interest. Just wish I would have started collecting years ago.

    Howdy.

I have recently come into possession of my fathers mildly neglected firearms. He's had several years of rough health, and is now in a retirement home after a stroke. He owns a Garandicon, as well as some other WW2 weapons. I have always liked these guns, and now find myself wanting to learn all I can about them.
