WTK value of Intrac imported IBM M1 carbine

I have an Intrac imported IBM M1 carbine with the Austrian markings and lower that I would like to know the value of. All of the parts appear to match (including the stock) other than the Austrian lower and the barrel and receiver are both IBM marked. I know it has a few things going for it but I don't know exactly what these go for as I can't find much info on them. Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome to the carbine forum. That is a very nice first post.

Being as we like pictures, have you broken it down yet? Do you know what the markings are on the internal parts? On the stock and slingwell?
It appears to have been through a rebuild, most have.
Most questions will get a quick response here. We have a friendly group. And you will get people asking you questions about your carbine.

We also have a search section. You can type in a keyword and it will show past threads or posts on the item entered. Might help build up info for you.

Hi Jim,

No, I haven't taken it apart as I don't know much about M1's. The slingwell has the last 4 digits of the serial # and I haven't really looked hard on the stock.

I made sure to search and I couldn't find much info on this particular config.

Welcome, and that's a nice IBM! You might search on some other terms - I'm sure you'll find something helpful. Also check the "sticky" threads and links at the top of the M1/M2 Carbine forum. I know there's lots of info in there on the Bavarian carbines, so you might find something on yours as well. I just got a carbine yesterday, wanting to get some quick pictures posted soon. They're not going to compare to yours though - great job on those pics! - Bob

Intrac had boxes of parts that were thrown together to make carbines from what I was told. That doesn't mean all of them were like that, but I'd think most of them were. I have an Underwood Bavarian Rural Police that came with an "altered" Winchester stock and a mainly Inland trigger housing group. The best thing about the gun is that it has its original flip sight and type one barrel band still on it. The gun has also been refinished like so many of the Bavarians were.

About a yr ago I bought a later Inland Bavarian at a pawn shop that's an INTRAC import. It had a commercial paratrooper stock. The price was $699 I believe.

as far as value it is only worth what some one is willing to pay. Myself I would pay manybe 650.

Here's some more pics of everything I could find with a stamp. I tried researching last night but holy crap, there's a TON of info on M1 carbines out there!

Not rust, just some old cosmoline or something as it comes off fairly easy.

Original in a lot of ways. The stock and handguard are Underwood. The trigger housing, sans the hammer, are Inland from what I see. It has most of the 4 digit serial numbers stamped on it. Do one thing, take the stock off and look on the receiver below the wood to see if there's a serial number either etched or stamped on it. The value cited above is very close to where it could be figuring + or - fifty dollars. Also, definitely has the Bavarian finishes on it.
