Value of an M48 ?
Haven't had a Mauser in awhile, so not sure of the value.
Any input would be great.
Yugoslavian M48
Bought a few years ago in unissued condition, only 300 rounds through it, Maybe 90-95% condition.
Very nice Walnut stock with one ding.
Comes with 500 rounds mostly on stripper clips(Yugo
and Romanion) reloading dies, 100 or so brass, and maybe some bullets

Over here: about 150-200 euros for the rifle. Maybe another 100 or so for the ammo etc. Seems tough, but it's going to take a while before the message penetrates that there are no previously undiscovered caches of unissued K98s and that the Yugos are often in much better shooting condition. Which is my cynical way of expressing that whatever it's worth now, it will probably be worth relatively more in ten years time.

Peterson's lists them at $350 in excellent condition and $200 in very good condition. I recently "paid" $325 for one in excellent condition complete with bayonet, cleaning kit, sling at Cabelas although I used points and Cabelas is generally a bit high on milsurps. I see them fairly often in the $250 range for decent examples.

Thanks for the input
I was figuring about $250 for just the rifle

Just bought one in Canada
, unissued, for $350 at a local shop but the milsurp dealers up here are asking about $450 or so. They have most definitely begun to dry up in our neck of the woods.

Wow!
I paid $200 for mine a few years ago, in very good (but not excellent) condition. I had no idea the prices had gone up that much. Now I wish I had bought a second while I had the chance.

Stumbled on an M48A this week end for $225. She needs a bit of love (sight hood, cleaning rod & front barrel band to replace the one bubba banged off with a hammer).

I need to clean it before I can get a good idea. The rifleing at the muzzle is not crisp. I try to swab her out this week and let you know. Found a bayo/cleaning kit /sling combo at Samco and I think Sarco has the sight hood and cleaning rod. Keeping an eye out for the front barrel band. I feel pretty good about this one as the pickings at the gunshow were very slim. Was fortunate enough to pick up a No 7 Mk 1 & a nice K98
bayonet as well as a P37 entrenching tool with the spike bayonet attachment. I will try and post som pictures in the Edged weapons area.

Well the M48 cleaned up well and what do you know shot well. Sub 2" group at 75 yards in windy conditions with my old eyes. Deer beware.
