1. Yes, that would explain marks only out to 100y.

2. I think I have been sent the wrong part.

3. Another question; I assume no adjustment will be needed if I get the right part, as the adjustment is at the front sight? If the rifle is sighted in on th 300/600y battle sight, it should not need to be re-sighted with a correct ladder sight?

1. Plus the "H" for "Harmonised". That setting was used for shooting at "Landscape Targets". One aimed at the landscape target but the shot would hit a plain target fitted above it. (So as to save the expensive colour printed landscape target.)

2. Yes. Clearly. Although a No.8 sight,a a collectors item in is own right, is probably much rarer than that for a No.4.

3. You would need to zero the rifle by means of moving/substituting the foresight element.
