Hi Folks ...
My wife ~Angel~ and I have been getting some really disturbing emails from a very small segment of the old CSP community, that alludes to us personally gaining from Dick and Gloria's predicament. To be honest, if we had realized that our personal efforts to help them were going to be construed in this manner, we doubt we would have started down this road at all.
Having said that, a clarification for everyone ....
As Jeff mentioned, ALL of the advertising revenue in the CSP forums, which is zero at the moment, goes directly to Dick and Gloria, so I'm sure they would appreciate any help you guys can be in getting advertisers to fill those banner spots you see at the top of CSP forums.
We're also looking for a volunteer for a financial fund raising project for Dick and Gloria. If you, or anyone you know would like to "Chair" that kind of program, please send me a PM or email with your ideas. ALL proceeds from an on-line personal donation based fund raiser would go directly to help Dick and Gloria and NONE would benefit the site in any way.
Thanks for any help you can offer ...
Finally, the use of your CSP forums is absolutely FREE and the ONLY program that helps this site at all, are folks who have graciously chosen to voluntarily donate a nominal amount of money, to help defray several thousand dollars in annual system bandwidth, server, disk storage and maintenance costs. We refer to this special group as Contributing Members (click here). Even though our personal contribution from my wife ~Angel~ and myself to help Dick and Gloria, increases our site operational costs by about 50%, any additional financial support helps mitigate some of that burden and we sincerely appreciate it. So, indirectly that program helps them too. We are NOT a paid site and would operate and do this for Dick and Gloria, even without the assistance of "Contributing Members".
If anyone would like to speak to us about our site, our personal love of this hobby (~Angel~ is a HUGE Enfield collector), or our motives, then we'd appreciate people having the respect and courage to send us an email with personal contact information, and not be posting gossip anonymously behind an Internet pseudonym here and in other forums. We'd be happy to telephone anyone at our expense and speak to them face-to-face, about who we are and the current state of Dick and Gloria's situation, which obviously would be inappropriate to be publishing publicly all over the Internet.
Thanks for listening everyone ....
Regards,
Badger (Doug)
~Angel~ (Deborah)

Thank You Badger for all you do...
Badger I would personally like to thank you for all you have done for us on the CSP forum. Some people have problems with change and that is what is driving that unwanted email. Dick and Gloria have been are family for so long it hurt to see there site go down. I'm sure in time we'll think of you and your wife as family also. Thank you again for all you are doing for us.

Admins/Mods - know that I submit the following criticism respectfully.
You guys are putting out information today on this site that should have been posted on the old Jouster site before this transition was ever made. There was not enough transparency to this, and it left many of us suspect about your intentions. If your intentions are to preserve a dying site and contribute to the Culver's in return for all they did over the years then I applaud you for it. Understand that I (and many others) have considered Jouster THE premier M1 Garand site for years, and I was frankly hurt that it became a subset of forums to a site (milsurps.com) that I hadn't even heard of before. I could easily see it dissolve into nothingness, assimilated into other forums here. Jouster CSP is a great forum with a great bunch of people, and I think it deserves a standalone name and address, and you have stated that is the ultimate goal.
I know my post may come off as a bit harsh, but understand it comes out of great respect for the Jouster community. If I have offended you on your site and on your bandwidth, you have my apologies and feel free to delete this.

I saw the beginnings of this tirade in the last hours that the old CSP site was active. It was the "last gasp" of the "Flat-Earthers" objecting to the software change. Since they apparently couldn't or simply wouldn't understand the technical realities, they were collectively working themselves up into a right-regular "state" at the end, and finally ran to the last refuge of the terminally vacuous......a venal conspiracy!
Ignore them! As far as the CSP community is concerned....they represent the dead yeast that you always find in the best beer! The overwhelming bulk of us appreciate our new home, and are growing to like it rather well!

Thank you for your kind efforts. Seems that many of these WEB sites have a larger share of sociopath shut-ins who seem to enjoy spreading chaos and misery. Just ignore the gadfly crowd and dump their Emails into the SPAM bucket.
Where do we go to find the schedule of advertising fees? Thanks in advance . . . Bob S.

For all who are helping to bring the old CSP forum over to milsurps.com, I applaud your efforts and am sorry that there are those who try to make this undertaking out to be anything less than honorable.
Needless to say, there are those who thrive on making things out to be something other than the truth, but I can assure you they are vastly outnumbered by the great number of members who respect and appreciate all of your hard work.
Thanks again for your efforts,
azimuth
