The article is fair assessment. I had one, and had nothing problems. Trigger housings will not interchange, because the receiver lugs are spaced different. Some of the internal parts were different. sear, etc. Sold it to a re-enactor who wanted to plug the barrel for blanks only. On the other hand, my 70 year old USGI Inland from CMP works like a champ. You can still pick up USGI carbines for less than Auto Ord.
