Fazakerly made at least 38,8xx No 4 MK II rifles in 1955 in the UF55 A series, followed by another 4~6,000 in early 1956. Lowest number noted is UF 56 A40,1xx, Highest number seen in1956 is UF56 A44,8xx. (at least in my notes)
After that Fazakerly assembled a bunch of what are marked as FTR rifles in 56 and 1957 that seem to have a mix of old parts with new barreled actions. Highest serial number seen in the UF 56A series, 10,xxx. Highest serial numbers I have seen are around FTR UF 57 A18,xxx. That is from a small sample size, there may be a few thousand more.
So they are not all that rare, but as they are like-new they seem to sell in the US for between 600 and 750 dollars. If in the wrap they are worth more and would likely be worth more if retained in the grease wrap. If heavily used the price drops off quite significantly. If you fire mild nitro loads and treat the rifle with care you will do virtually no harm to it in 500 rounds, I know a chap that has around that many rounds fired off of the bench and but for a slight mark around the bolt face you would not know it is not new.Information
