NOS Mags-Open or leave sealed?
Two of them were opend before and sealed with scotch tape so I gently opened them. One NOS General Shaver and a Risdon full blue WW2 contract. The other are sealed. Shall I open them or leave as is?

If you bought them, I'd make sure you got what you paid for. I'd just try not to damage the wrap.

And some would tell you they were made to be shot.

I think maybe I will open them and put them in and out of a pistol about 1000 times, you know-just to give them some history.
These arent all recent buys, Dad said he bought these for $1.50 each in the early '80's at OGCA in Columbus, the good ole days I suppose. I picked up two others at an estate auction a couple of years ago.

Wait until you get a really 99% plus 1911A1 and then you can add much admired history to both of them.
At a Dallas show in about the same time period you mention an exhibitor had a cigar box full of magazines in the original wrap for $5, and really excellent used mags for $3. I though they were too high.

That's what I was thinking Johhny. I could see buying one to leave in the wrap, maybe one unwrapped for inspection and use the rest. I have a shaver in my mag mass. It works fine...

Something akin to using 1921 silver dollars down at the local quick stop.
There are too many dog-eared $1 bills to be using silver dollars even though they were both made for the same thing, and too many modern magazines to be using new in the wrap WWII magazines.
