Archer:
The best, out of the box, match grade Service Rifle, IMHO, is a Rock River, with a Rock River NM trigger. However, that's not the best of what's easily (at least, used to be easy) obtainable in match grade ARs.
My thoughts are a RR NM lower, with a White Oak (either WOP if you're good, or WOA if your startin') upper.
This opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it......
Surely there will be others.....

If you ask me they are all the same. I like Busmaster because of their involvement with the CMP, and participation in the CMP games events.
Any new DCM service rifle from Bushy, RRA, or Armalite will shoot master scores. I have never heared a bad word about WOA, or CLE uppers.
Both operations have great people that know what they are doing when it comes to service rifle competition.

With the exception of triggers, Fick 2141 is probably right until you can shoot well enough to appreciate one put together by the top 'smiths.

Got mixmaster Bushy , RR , DPMS
I use a BushMaster lower that I put a Rock River trigger in . I put a DPMS , DCM upper on it and it shoots better than I do. One day I may buy a Rock River at Camp Perry , they are about the most rifle for the price IMHO. Just Another Old Doggy ,Don

I agree with Relics. Out of the box RR is probably the way to go. My DCM Buchmaster shoots great , but , the trigger is somewhat sloopy. When it goes bad a RR trigger will go into it.

Archer 9505, I saw that you live in Bowdoin. I live right next door in Bowdoinham. I've got the White Oak Armament upper that others have talked about and can attest that that thing will put the bullet exactly where the front sight is every time. Fully capable of High-Master scores all the way accross the course.
I recently traded a match upper for a Bushmaster DCM upper to use as a spare to rotate new barrels. It has less than 500rds on it and am told it shoots very well. If you do not currently have a rifle and want to shoot Highpower this year, let me know. I have spares of most of all the gear you would need.

I'll try to contact you via the PM feature. I'm still getting the hang of this new forum so we will see if I am successful.

lots of good info in this thread,
here's my 2 cents,
got a good friend that bought a new RRA at Perry a couple of years ago,
shoots great, no issues, (he's a 'high' expert)
I use a Mutt rifle for short range, with a RRA trigger (eagle lower, usgi top, old 1x9HB, floated etc)
I have a RRA lower, jewel, and CLE krieger upper for across the course,
both work fantastic
the club I belong to has 2 bushmaster CMP's as loaners, and several members have them also,
nice guns, shoot well, but as the members got better, they changed the trigger out,,
also have a friend that has a RRA lower, Giessele (sp) trigger, and a WOP match upper,
that combo is outstanding,
moral to the story,
they are all good companies, making good or better products , it's up to what you are comfortable with,
shoot and enjoy!

As you asked about best "out of the box" there is one simple answer-Rock River Arms. Because they have the trigger and all else is about equal.
