Recovered from the, at the time. freshly dissolved USSR. Not so much battle damage but rather mostly bored Russians. Having seen wadded up P39 wreckage, the engine would be the last thing to take impact damage. Pilot's compartment is well protected ,too, more than is needed, probably.
