Shot my 'Irish Contract' today.
Senior eyes and 70 year old ammo (WRA43) but passed Peter's Limey Test--all finally inside 1"x1 1/2" tall rectangle at 25 yards. New PP boattails and my boattail reloads grouped as well. Went on to 'ring the bell' at 300 yards. This is 11/54 P.F.326825, middle photo. Certainly not a recent unwrap, well dinged and darkened stock, perfect bore and bedding, matching bayonet/scabbard (stamped by whoever?) CAI import stamp in usual place starboard side barrel forward of foresight protector. There is no civilian proof via Birmingham or London, but assume that supports fact it is in the 'Irish Contract'? I looked under handguard assembly as well. Cheers, Don

Howdy ptf18, I'm new at this reloading business and there will be better advice elsewhere on this great forum, but what I shot yesterday was .3105, 174 GR FMJ/BT Hornady in front of 38 grains of 4064 in twice fired PPU cases, overall length 3035 more or less. Works well in my newer No.4's and 5's but as you've probably read here boat tails don't always leave the older, cordite worn barrels in an orderly fashion! Can you share your 'Irish' serial number or whether it has Birmingham or London civilian proof marks? CAI import stamp near the muzzle? Matching bayonet/scabbard? Thanks, Don
