I don't see any P on the barrel anywhere. Here's some pics. What does that mean? I'm not sure what kind of front sight it is, but here it is. It almost looks like it's faintly tagged "PO".

Look for small 'P' on top of the barrel possibly under the handguard or about 2" in front of the forward edge of the handguard. It actually looks like one in front of the front sight, but that's probably not it. Hey, that muzzle wear looks like a brand new barrel.

OK, I found it. But I don't see a punch mark anywhere. Here's the P. So what does it mean?




Also, is this hole underneath the gas piston supposed to be there. It goes back at an angle.

That hole allows for the drilling of the gas passage that extends up into the bore. It's supposed to be there! - Bob

For some reason I didn't remember seeing it on my other carbine. Not sure how I missed that. It's a bear getting old. Hehhehehe
