Suggestions on shipping transit case, rifle, accessories
I "might" be getting a MK1 T w/ transit case, accessories etc. seller is not familiar with shipping firearms and I have shipped long guns but never a complete package like this. I'm most concerned with getting everything undamaged.
I'm looking for advice that I can pass along regarding packaging and safely shipping these items in one box or separately. I know some here have received these packages.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I've had several (maybe 12 or more) No.4(Mk1*)T's shipped from thousands of miles away to me ...
In all cases, the rifle (and any kit) were "bubble wrapped" (or something like that) inside their transit cases, bolt out and scopes in their own scope cans, also ""bubble wrapped". The object was to have nothing be able to bounce around inside in transit case.
Following that, the transit case itself was wrapped in heavy cardboard, with re-enforcing pads shaped and placed at all the corners to prevent (minimize) damage from a fall on the corner edges. Over top of the carboard was that standard brown shipping and wrapping paper, so all the labels etc were the only thing showing on the outside of the package.
I've never received a damaged piece as yet, except once. I did receive a shipment of a premium priced item from a deler in Australia
that was a mess. For someone who labeled himself a professional dealer, it looked like it had been packed by a 4 year old. To be frank. I'd neither recommend him, nor deal with him again.
Hope that helps...
Regards,
Doug

What carrier and method is recommended. It's shipping from another state here in the US.
Thanks for the good advice.

Packing as above. I would use USPS and track it and insure it heavily for more tnhan it's worth just in case. I use UPS regularly for shipping run of the mill nO.4s etc but they do hire a certyain proportion of ex cons to get grants from govt and things do go missing. I alwsy insure for twice the value of replacement whoever I use.
