    Everything you need is on P414 of the Lee Enfield Story or page 478 of Mr Skennertonicon's last book, "The Lee Enfield".

    Your rifle is a .22 Short Rifle No1. 5532 were recorded as being converted from MLM MkI# rifles in 1908 at Enfield.
    At the time of the conversion, the Magazine Lee Metford rifles were most likely in stores having been replaced by MLE's and then SMLE's. I don't know if there is any way to tell if it was ever saw action, not being up on the Boer War, I don't even know if the older Metford barreled rifles were used.
    I think the 468 is a rack number, and the markings on the disc were date of return to store from conversion, yours being January '09.
    It is missing the front sight protector. If nobody else comes up with a pic of it, I'll dig one out and take one for you.
