Larson's Carbine Book
My 1st book was The M1
Carbine lll By Harrison, 2nd U.S. M1 Carbines War Time Productions 5th edition by Riesch, 3rd & 4th War Baby & War Baby Comes Home by Ruth. Yesturday at the Portland, Or gun show I stoped by the book vender and saw one I didn't have, M1 Carbine, 2nd edition by Larson. I use Harrisons for quick iding parts and Riesch & War baby for deeper info. I find using the three gives me a good idea what I have. Haven't had much time with larson's yet, but looking over Winchester's 5827xxx section it seams pretty liberial on when type lll bands would be used. Over all I'm wondering what everyone here thinks about this reference book???? Has alot of good pi's. Gene

I bought it because I buy almost any carbine book. I like the layout, that's about it. There are so many repo and bogus parts displayed, it can mislead newer people into believing they are real.

I noticed that as well Jim. To bad too because the layout is nice.

It and Harrisons book are two that should be banned from carbine collecting. One because it is now very outdated and the other as stated is filled with pictures of fake parts being called real.
