Britishicon rum issue was known as ,"plussers" for some reason. Got an issue of this in Germanyicon in the early 1970s. It was still in stores after the Canadianicon move out of the British to the US zone. I have heard that this beverage, served without breakfast, played a role in encouraging the troops to charge out of their trenches in WW1. The modern replacement, as I recall, was Capt Morgans 181 Proof. Being something like 90% alcohol was less likely to freeze on winter deployments, apparently also popular in Alaska..
