.22 Trainer - what is this
I have no contact with this but am foxed as to what it is:-

Would say Just a standard savage No4 converted to .22 at some point, got wind of it Friday night.

The blurb is a load of round things.
"snipers training rifle" - rubbish!
"with original sling" - rubbish too. Slings were issued separately - and is it fitted incorrectly.
"canvas slip dated 1942". Available at any good surplus store.

The conversion is one of the less difficult ones to do, with the rear-locking bolt, and this appears to be along the lines of a No.9.
Parker-Hale would do these if you wanted one, and no doubt some individuals and schools did order them.

looks like someone fitted a savage made rifle with longbranch Cno7 bits to me , i know these bits were available from a few places over the last 10+ years and i think it would be easy enough to make one up ,
