I couldn't prove it one way or another. I know lots of army fought there too.

I was kind of thinking that myself. But I'm imagining the Army was less likely to walk around in fatigues without some kind of insignia or rank or division somewhere. But I'm not really sure about that either.

They don't look like Marine fatigues. Buttons on the pockets etc. no EGA visible. I'm leaning toward Army.

The bottom pic, is that a Hawley liner under his foot? You can see the bead around the edge of the liner...It would be an early enough issue to make it possible...

I think you're right BAR, it does look like a Hawley liner.
