Without wood, pretty much worthless to us guys. Almost impossible to restore from what I've heard, just no spare parts out there.

"Frenchicon Sniper" Did you correct him or just chuckle quietly to yourself?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... You confirmed my instincts on the restoration which is why I passed. Just chuckled.

There are enough first-class Swissicon rifles around that you need not waste one second looking at Bubba jobs or cracked stocks.

Simpson's Ltd is a great place to find Swissicon rifles. They are currently running a special on the 1911 series rifles.

Gun show near Philly today I ran into a few Swissicon rifles. A drilled and tapped 1911 long rifle was $350. A walnut stocked K31 was $350, a 96/11 was $450. Local gun shop still has a beech stocked K31 for $325.

Milsurps are a bit few and far between here abouts. Usually a few on tables at shows. The walkins is where I have the most success. I am sure the dealers hate to see me coming as I am willing to pay a bit above pawn shop prices. The Swiss and Finnishicon rifles are about very rare. Garands and Carbines are the only thing seen with ant regularity. CMPicon resellers. I passed on a walkin Sweede carbine due to lack of knowlege at $350. Saw it later on a dealer's table. He probably bought it for $200 and had it marked at $575. A lack of knowlege might have cost me on that one.
