I have been trying for a number of years to accumulate what I thought I would need if a ban was enacted. Just last year I decided to acquire another AR15 to go with the A2 model I have had for 25+ years. I was able to put together a Mforgery using all PSA parts for a little over $550. In looking at the prices today I doubt if I could put a lower together for that. Back before the Clinton ban, I bought a case of 20 and 30 round GI magazines, I wonder what I could get for them today?

I am glad I decided to get a AK47 last year. I had a dozen or so AK mags I bought back then and figured I should get a rifle to go with them.

The only thing I am sorry I didn't get was more ammo. I only have a couple of thousand rounds for each type EBR and now the price is just too high.

I've got enough ARs but no AK47. I wish I could get one something horrible! I came close about three months ago but it fell through. I'll keep looking! Anyone??? Hint, hint, wink, wink

I'm in the same boat but really have never had the desire to own an AK. The only thing that has changed my perspective is the low cost an avaliability of ammo for the AK.

That would make it a SBR here and unless we don't want to get in deep poo we cant have them without the SBR tax stamp.

I have one also. Can't hardly find an excuse for the thing. Would swap it off, but for convenience a friend welded a fancy extra long flashhider to the barrel. Avoids the legal dramas (in the US), but the weld is fairly hideous. Might have been OK for full auto shoots, but that hasn't happened in our group in ages.

I went into the Placerville Walmart to see if I could find some sling swivel studs for my 870 clone. Usually they have LOTS of ammo. I've bought all my .380 ammo there, as well as American eagle black box 223. There was literally 95% of the ammo gone! No 357. 38. 40, 9, 380, 45, 223, 7.62x39, and almost not shotgun ammo. The clerk said there has been an ammo buying frenzy. When I picked up my $150 stag stripped lower today, the dealer said he can't get anymore. In fact he has been offered more than $600 for a stripped lower he was keeping for himself. he has sold out on almost all his ammo, also, and can't get anymore. Wholesalers are holding back to drive price up. During the hysteria when Obama was elected the first time, Cheaper than dirt was selling Wolf AK ammo for $25 a box of 20, or 500% increase. I have not bough from them since...

I shot my homebuilt Bushmaster M4 carbine today. I had several new 14.5" Colt barrels so I built one and paid for the SBR tax stamp because I couldn't fathom welding a long flash hider on one. I found a heavy SOCOM barrel at Knob Creek in October so I have it set up on a separate upper too. It's a flawless little rifle. Accurate and 100% reliable. I've got a 2' Salute metal popper at 120 yards off the bench and 150 yards in the prone and it takes a real beating!
