Chinese 7.62mm Tok STEN MK2
Would anyone have some photos of a Longbranch made Chinese converted STEN MK2 in 7.62mm Tok? I have just bought one, the same as shown in Mr Ls STEN book, it has the normal magwell with the markings 54-7.62mm 25-05. Info appears a little scarce and most of it refers to the type with the different mag well. I'm, wondering what mag would have been used in a unmodified mag well? A normal STEN mag?
TIA, Chris.

Thanks for the reply, there are 2 versions, one has a dfferent mag well fitted for the PPS 43 mag and the other ( the one I have bought) retains the standard mag well and I dont see how a PPS 43 mag would fit it. Info on this type is scarce on the net so I was hoping someone here would have one.

Chinese 7.62mm Tok STEN MK2
I assumed by the way it was written that regular sten magazines were used.

I hope so, it would save me finding a special one! I also assume, but could be wrong, that all the conversions had the longer 10"? barrel. Anyone confirm that?

I've never heard of anything but 10" bbls, but who knows?
I bought several of the bbls years ago and was going to shoot some PPSh ammo in my Mk II.
The 7.62x25 rd will not fit in a standard Sten mag - to long by about 1/8".
For years I advertised for a chinese mag, but never found any. It would have to be flat on the back to accomadate the longer rd.
I bobbed a couple of bbls and use them for blank bbls. They work fine with 9mm blanks.

I think i've sussed it, I found Frank Iannamico book 'The British STEN Manual' which shows both versions. He states that the conversions have the 10.5" barrel (I think he would have mentioned if their were 2 different length barrels) and that a modified PPS43 mag fits into the STEN mag well. He does state that he dosn't know if the Chinese converted PPS43 mags or made new mags specific to the conversion with standard mag well. So, I will have a look for a PPS43 mag and have a play.
Thanks to all for looking.
