I don't think so but that is the first one I have ever seen. My Norwegianicon Mausers are marked and match all the Nazi SN's but the Norwegians applied their own SN to the rifle and added the branch of service to which it was assigned. The rifles were converted to 30-'06 and the barrels so marked. The bolts and butt plates have been force matched to the Norwegian SN but no numbers applied to the stocks. I wished gunbb would post some more pictures of his carbine. It looks like someone ground off the Norwegian SN which looks to me was a 2 digit number. Other agencies that were issued the K98icon's were FLYs(Air Force), HAER(Army), Politi(Police, KNM(Navy) and NSB....... Norges Statsbaner (Norwegian State Railway).....the railroad still carries a K98 in the engine compartment to dispatch crippled animals.
I am good friends with a Norwegian that is an expert on these and will call him. Regards, Rick.
