    Clash77 Nice 1943 Savage. In your post you said your has Crown markings on the receiver ring and bolt. I looked in your pictures looking for pictures of those because I want to see where they are and what they look like. I havent seen Crown markings on mine so I dont know what country accepted it. The finninsh on yours is the same as mine.

    Mr. Laidlericon do you think the FR work was done in the UK or whatever country had these rifles? Looks to me like they added the transverse screw in the stock and stamped FR in the buttstock. I looked in the places for inspectors marks like Crown markings and have not found any. No Indian inspector marks either. Just the flaming bomb. Last my rifle has no proof marks you see on the end of the barrel when it was sold out of service. No Englandicon stamp. Off topic I had a 68MG.

    I'm not gonna ask about the other thing you all mentioned but will say I do listen and like to learn espically from people who worked on these rifles.
