Call me stupid, but my MARINA ARGENTINA marked M1911 is serial C11.5XX - wouldn't this make it an earlier Argentine M1911 than yours?

Well, sure! I can call you whatever you wish. But your pistol is the from the first Argentine contract of any sort which was for outfitting the ship being built in the US for the Argentine Navy circa 1914. So it's not from the first Argentine Army contract!
