Hello:
I'm a new member, and this is my first post. I'd like to say hi to everyone. This website has lots of information, and looks like a lot of fun too. Right now the only milsurp that I have is a M1938 Turk Mauser, but all journeys begin with a single step. I'm enjoying reading about restoring, reloading, shooting and other adventures that your members are posting. Once I've done something profound, or at least interesting, I'll share that too.

I come from Alabama... I am relatively new to Milsurp collecting, with only a few years experience, but I am definitely hooked. My collection includes the ever popular Mosin Nagant (3 so far), an unissued Yugoslavian M48, and a real sweet M1 Garand from the CMP. Also, the CMP is where I have spent much of my time associating with other collectors. I just want to say that I am glad to be here!

New to this site
G'day everyone my name is Bob and I'am from Sydney Australia. I can't explain why I like the .303 mility rifles I just do. I have 2 of them a No 4 mk1*1950 in a Longbranch and the other is a No 1 mk3* 1942 in a Lithgow both are original and all numbers match they have a few storage marks on wood . The number 4 is unfired it had greese in the barrel still and the number 1 had only a few rounds through it. I've had several .303s over the years and sold them, there was one I should have kept was a No 4 mk2 Fazackerly ,I bet the guy who bought that one was happy any way that's the way it goes.
Glad to join the site and I'll chat to you later.
Cheers Bob

Hello Folks,
I'm new to the forum, but not to the subject!
I have been interested in all manner of militaria, arms, armour and military history ever since I can remember.
My main interest is in edged weapons, which I have collected since the mid 60's. I am particularly interested in the arms and armour of Japan, of which I had at one time a fairly large collection of swords, and a few armours, and yes if anyone needs help, I can usually read Japanese signatures if you need help with translations!
Having stopped collecting some years ago and sold my collections, I find myself bitten by the bug again.....it never really leaves us does it!
My main interest now is in collecting socket bayonets, which have always fascinated me, and I am steadily building up a collection of these together with the necessary literature. I had a largish collection of bayonets back in the 70's 80's, but now it is for the most part socket bayonets that grab me.
I hope I can at some point contribute something useful to the forum!
