Just proves that the " never give up" attitude will always win.WE still owe a lot to the Timorese people for their help,it is a debt of gratitude that we can only continue to pay!

It has been a while and I actually forgot about this, but were the complimentary copies ever sent out for those that donated over $50?

As we understand it, yes ....
Ian was sent a list with emails of all donators over $50. I understand he sent out complimentary copies to that group.
Here's a thread where members who had received their copies were posting ..
Footsteps of Sparrow Force - West Timor 1941-42
I assume you're asking because you haven't received your copy? If so, I sent Ian a note asking him to check in here about it...
Thanks..
Regards,
Doug

Thanks for the response Ian; however, I think I found the problem, after looking at the list of donors, there were 20 donations of $50.00 or more. I made my $100 donation in October 2010, so I'm not sure what happened, but I will send my mailing info to the address above; however, if you are unable to confirm my donation, do not worry about sending a copy.
Thank you

Pattern 1914 Snipers
As you will learn in the DVD, there was a Sparrow Force contingent on Dutch West Timor and another on Portuguese East Timor. West Timor had regular infantry, gunners, engineers and support groups, so no sniper rifles. This group was protecting an airfield and the 6-in guns. The 2nd Ind. Coy. (commando) were on East Timor and there are quite a few of Damien Parer's stills and movie shots of the Pattern '14 (T) in use there. At a guess, I would say one per platoon (commando platoons were about 3-4x the size of regular infantry platoons, another ploy to disguise their status). So that would probably mean 3 or 4 Patt. 1914 (T) rifles on East Timor. Favourite snipers were ex-kangaroo shooters.
Cheers, Ian[COLOR="black"]

Hello Ian. My dad was part of the Dutch portion of Sparrow Force. Does your documentary include any dutch forces?
